A niche B2B technology company was developing a differentiated learning solution around a problem its founder knew deeply: students are expected to learn independently, yet most are never explicitly taught how to learn. The opportunity extended beyond individual institutions to school groups, specialist education providers, communities, and associations.
The strategic question was not whether the need existed. It was where to focus first, which decision-makers and partners could create meaningful access, and how to turn the founder's expertise into credible market conversations.
The company had a strong mission and specialist expertise, but its route to market was still broad and founder-dependent. Time-consuming outreach still competed with the founder's product, team, and launch priorities.
The company needed to:
Translate a wide education market into a prioritised ideal customer profile (ICP)
Identify institutions, networks, and partners with the strongest strategic fit
Delegate time-consuming prospecting and follow-up without losing strategic control or market learning
Position the founder more clearly for international and private-school audiences
Build consistent thought leadership in an authentic, credible voice
Create a low-friction inbound path that could support future demand generation
01 — Focus The Market
We turned the company's broad view of 'schools and parents' into a practical market map. Research covered priority international schools in the Gulf and Asia, hospital-school organisations in India and Europe, homeschool networks across ASEAN, the Middle East, and Europe, and parent and education associations that could offer credibility or distribution.
The work defined priority segments, institutional characteristics, relevant buyer and partner roles, likely buying triggers, and named target accounts. It also surfaced a higher-leverage route: strategic school groups and associations that could provide access to many institutions through one relationship.
02 — Convert Research Into Conversations
The market map was translated into account lists and a live lead tracker, giving the company a focused base for outreach and follow-up. GTM Advantage took ownership of the time-consuming outreach work, while keeping the founder close to the strategically important conversations. More than 30 school leaders were contacted across the Gulf, Asia, and Europe. Five responded with interest and were warm for a call or demo at handover.
This was not list-building alone. We brought strategic judgment to the execution by identifying additional target groups, specialising the outreach by segment, and prioritising higher-leverage school groups and associations. The early conversations included a curriculum leader connected to a major international-school network. This provided directional validation that the sharper targeting was opening doors with strategically relevant organisations, even though the product's evolution meant commercial conversion would happen later.
03 — Turn Founder Expertise Into Market Authority
We repositioned the founder's LinkedIn profile around the needs of international and private schools, then built a repeatable content system rooted in her experience as an educator, journalist, and learning coach. Deliverables included ten recurring content pillars, article and post development, a commenting framework, and messaging on the science of learning, AI in education, and data privacy.
The objective was not generic personal branding. It was to make the founder's expertise easier for school leaders and education communities to recognise, trust, and engage with.
04 — Build The Next Demand Layer
We created an interactive survey-based lead magnet and established the initial measurement framework for outreach, content, and lead capture. Together with the ICP, account research, and content calendar, this gave the team reusable assets that could continue beyond the engagement.
In three months, the company moved from a broad set of possible audiences and founder-dependent outreach to a clearer, evidence-based route to market with execution the founder could delegate. The engagement did not yet represent a mature or predictable revenue engine; it created the focus, access, and operating foundation required to build one.

Evidence At Handover

Three-month GTM engagement covering market research and ICP development, target-account mapping, outreach and lead tracking, founder positioning and content, lead capture, and handover recommendations.

"We made real progress in outreach, something I was very happy to delegate because it is time-consuming. The team brought its own strategic input, identified additional target groups, and helped make our outreach more specialised. The cooperation was responsive, committed, and very much to the point. "
